I viaggi di Ranke - About
Focus and Scope
The editorial collection publishes works on contemporary history covering the fields of political, social, economic and cultural history, as well as the history of historiography. The series will cover a wide range of topics related to European and international history, with a focus on comparative and transnational dimensions. Open in terms of methodology, the collection aims to promote studies characterised by analytical rigour and based on field research, without excluding works of historiographical synthesis. Aware of the changes taking place in the publishing market, the collection aims to offer space to highly specialised studies of high scientific quality, which are increasingly difficult to find space for within traditional publishing houses. The collection aims to fill this gap by offering authors the opportunity to publish works of high scientific quality, selected through a rigorous evaluation process that considers originality, innovation and documentary research as qualifying parameters. The promoters of the editorial collection are researchers united by their belief in the scientific nature of historical research and the need to promote research based on archival and documentary research. The target audience for the collection will mainly consist of university professors, researchers, doctoral students, students and teachers, but also educated members of the public interested in historical research.
The series I viaggi di Ranke is promoted by Department of the Arts.

Peer Review Process
The first step involves the scientific board’s evaluation of the proposal, seeking input from members of the scientific committee as needed.
The second step involves the evaluation of the full text:
-
The evaluation of the full text follows two principles: double-blind for monographs and anthologies not linked to research projects, and single-blind for conference proceedings and volumes resulting from projects where the anonymity of the author(s) cannot be guaranteed;
-
The evaluation is normally conducted by an external reviewer and a reviewer selected from the scientific committee, except in cases where expertise on the subject is available only externally or within the scientific committee;
-
The evaluation always takes place during the pre-publication phase;
-
Responsibility for publication lies with the Series Editors.
For further information see the service policies.

It releases its books under the terms of Creative Commons Attribution - Non Commmercial 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC 4.0).
